Following the resounding success of Palace on Wheels, Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation in collaboration with Indian Railways launched Royal Rajasthan on Wheels that embarked on its maiden voyage on 11th of January 2009. The train is specially targeted to cater to the premium segment of travelers arriving in India.
Designed to fuse the ethnic with the modern, this train chugs across erstwhile princely states of Rajasthan along with a selection of heritage destinations including Jodhpur, Udaipur, Chittorgarh, Sawai Madhopur and Jaipur in Rajasthan along with temples of Khajuraho, sacred Ghats of Varanasi and last but not the least, the city of Taj, Agra.
Since the inception of the Royal Rajasthan On Wheels, its operators have tried to enhance the royal experience by tastefully upgrading and updating the itinerary. Whereas the earlier emphasis was on destinations in Rajasthan only, nowadays popular tourist attractions are also included to offer the best value for money and a complete travel experience to the guests.
Royal Rajasthan on Wheels ensures the plush stay in 13 deluxe and a super deluxe saloon characterized by tastefully decorated interiors and state of the art amenities.
